Today's Earworm: I Am a Stone by Demon Hunter
Today's Date: April 24, 2017
What to say today?
Actually I don't have an answer to that. I've been writing so hard and fast the last few days that I've kind of lost my own thoughts.
I found myself a new story that is kind of eating my brain, based around the above song and Heart Heart Head by Meg Myers. Both songs have damn near been on repeat since I discovered them and just let the sound and the lyrics work their magic on me.
So I think I found what I wanted to discuss beyond my current word count (just over 20K actually).
Inspiration.
I know I've touched on this on my twitter (@SLStrailo) and sometimes here, but I don't think I've done a full on blog about it.
Inspiration can come from anywhere and right now I'm not looking a gifthorse in the mouth. So to say, I'm not complaining.
Really. I want the inspiration to hit. I want those words to come to me and to work with me instead of giving me issues with trying to get them down and out. Let me tell you, fighting the words is a bitch. I don't think that there is a writer's block, there's just an inability to want to get those words down and issues mentally that stops the connection between word and writer's mind.
Which can suck. But still not writer's block.
So I've been getting words but they have been hard fought for words, which tend to read better than an easy flowing words but hey that shit happens.
Inspiration helps me get the words. And I love it. I love the fact that I can put the music on and get the words out and then...then I can go back with a sickle in hand and cut them down or fix them up. Whatever I need to make them look polished and pretty.
As for words...I'm currently at 2,0633 words and I need to cram so many words in yet.
S.L. Lewis' writer's haven as she transverses the ups and downs of the writing world. With a lot of "Let's Talk..." and a lot of "Sitting Down to Write" posts, you'll find a lot going on here every Monday.

Preparing for National Novel Writing Month 2016 - Pt 5
Today's Earworm: Big Bad Wolf by Aesthetic Perfection
Today's Date: October 31, 2016

What to write? I have no idea.
First: Happy Halloween, my little ghouls and ghosties! I hope that this year's Halloween is treating you well. :D
It's treating me okayish. I am getting over the colds (yay for flu shots messing with your system), and settling in for things to happen.
Unfortunately for me, I am also having to deal with people coming in to rip out my flooring and put new stuff down tomorrow. They were supposed to do it last Tuesday, or so we thought, but apparently not.
So I have to deal with that and promise to post pictures of that fun time process when I'm actually home. Which I'm going to have to be for most of the day outside of me running to the store with Tonya for the usual things on the 1st.
Hopefully we'll get that done kind of fast since we don't really have much to do so I'll be living off of massive amounts of coffee tomorrow. Fun. Right? Right.
But I'm not sure what to say since tomorrow it all starts and I will be busybusybusy for the first three days. This is going to be interesting, that's for sure.
Wish me luck, everyone! I'm going in!

Preparing for National Novel Writing Month 2016 - Pt 2
Todays Earworm: "9 Crimes" by Damien Rice
Today's Date: October 10, 2016
Should work on that soon yeah?
I really, really should.
Anyways, I have a couple chapters written already, setting up the world and the such, but I need to create a notebook with character information and all those lovely notes. I luckily have a green binder that will make my life that much easier. Awesome.
I have Alex and Brinda/Brianna (I keep fluctuating on her name dang it!) and I have some other characters who will be introduced as we go along, along with introducing the main plot line that will work through the series. There is a lot that will be going on and I just have 3 books to start with. Good lord.
Now for the Synopsis that I put up onto the Nanowrimo site (My page, the main page):
Now, I should be plotting shouldn't I? I should be. My writing friend is waiting for me to rewrite after all!
I did do a little plotting. Not a whole lot and more for book 2 then book 1 since I have a feeling I'm going to be plansting this thing (half plotting it out, half pantsing the thing), so it's okay.
I did swing by the Nano Artisan's forum and have been puttering around in there. I came across Kage of RLyis' forum post offering Avatars, Signature Banners, Characters, Calendars and Book Covers.
I managed to snag one. She did a lovely job. I actually also managed to name the story to thanks to Forward Motion Writers chat.
Cause who doesn't want to read a comedy-horror called Bad Dog?
That's right, Bad Dog. I'm making jokes all throughout this book. From start to finish.
Starting with the title.
But anyways, you should check her Forum Post out and ask her for one if her style makes you happy.

So I'm sitting here and I decided to take a semi-rebel path and write on my Ex-Retail worker story. I still don't really have a name for the damn book much less a series name.
Should work on that soon yeah?
I really, really should.

He had seen the worst of the worst!
He had dealt with couponers having melt downs in front of him.
He had done stocking during Black Friday.
He had worked a register during the Fourth when Barbie Moms came in to get their wine-in-a-box already three-sheets to the wind.
He had seen kids who run havoc all over the store while their parents just roll their eyes and toss in another candy bar into their baskets.
He had seen the worst of the worst.
A rampaging werewolf, a pissed off poltergeist and an idiot warlock with illusions of grandeur was nothing.
He had worked retail after all.And there we go! There's that for book 1!
Now, I should be plotting shouldn't I? I should be. My writing friend is waiting for me to rewrite after all!

Preparing for National Novel Writing Month 2016 - Pt 1
Today's Earworm: "Bones" by In This Moment
Today's Date: October 3, 2016
National Novel Writing Month.
Man, what a kick. Has it really been a year already since the last round of Preparing blog posts?
I have checked the calendar. Yes. Yes it has.
Damn, how time FLIES when you're busy. But...that's for another blog post. A special blog post set to be written and posted on January 1, 2017.
I have a confession.
I have no idea what the hell I'm going to write. No idea. At all. Unless I somehow finish the detailed, pages long outline. Or I get further into the darn outline.
But if you were anywhere near my twitter on the 28th of September, then you heard about the cry of writerly anguish of water.
All.
Over.
My.
Note.
Book.
I screamed in writerly anguish and horror about 4 in the morning and had to rewrite three of the damn pages, front and back.
I cried.
So, some pictures of what I was able to save.

I cried.
So, some pictures of what I was able to save.
A semi far away picture of the basic outline that I'm building my detailed outline off of.
Luckily, it did get away with not being attacked. Hurrah!
Here's a close up pic of it. Yes, that's my handwriting and no, it's not as neat as it looks.
It's the angle and the way that my writings come out.
And these are the pages that didn't make it.
As you can see, my phone is holding the pages down but they were just to smeared and crinkled to be useful this coming November.
I was able to rewrite one page (the one with the least bit of writing there on the right).
But the others...wipeout man.
You see that red and white striped cup?
That's the culprit. Just tipped over when I went for water.
I cried so hard when the darn thing fell over. And it was full. That's about 10 oz of pure liquid water. I was lucky.
This time.
But I may or may not be going into this with less chapters detailed out than planned if I do go with this story.
Damnit.

What Is Up With My Stories?
Today's Earworm: "Beautiful Loser" or "Strangers" by William Control
Today's Date: August 8, 2016
What is up with my stories?
To be truthful, my muses are being a bit of a bitch. Excuse the language, but I'm sure that you all can forgive me.
This is kind of normal for me though so I'm not too worried. There was a time where I didn't write a single original piece for like a year, but that was while I was rediscovering myself.
It's just gotten to a point where I need to stop thinking of publishing and just write. No more contemplating the future of publishing and all that I need to know. I will get to that point, I really will. But that time is not right now.
Right now I need to turn my focus to writing and finishing stories.
On that note, I'm creating a new series of short pieces under the Murder and Love banner, with the first 16 piece set called Just a Little Murder. It's a horror mystery with a lot of dark themes and the books to come will be much more descriptive.
As it is, in Short Piece 4 there is some rather callous thinking of forced slavery in the BDSM world, but that is the character.
I keep telling people that my stuff can be dark but do they believe me? Nope. Not until I pull something like this out and show them with all attached warnings. It's highly amusing to see their reactions while they read.
Anyways. I have decided that I need to put aside the thoughts of what I'm going to do with the stories when I finish them and just work on finishing them.
With that said, I've decided to work on When My Eyes Close, which is my 2015 NaNo novel, my zombie fic that was inspired by J.A. Marlow and Honey Drops bk 1. I'm plotting them out and have what I want to happen in them pinpointed.
Mostly.
It's taking me time, yes, but then again, everything takes time to happen, so I'm not to worried really.
I am working on several interesting stories, including a "Magical Girl" kind of world, a Magical Modern world, a dystopia that is based off of my story that I handed over to Forward Motion writers for publishing, and a few others, so no worries about that. Actually, you can see the full list of things that I have in the works here.
I'll try and create a newer list here by September, so we'll see how things go with that.
As it is, tomorrow I'm going to be heading over to my friend's place after some last minute shopping for foods so we can go see "Suicide Squad" in theaters. We're picking up some chips, dips, and adult beverages. My local Albertsons has a "Build your own 6 pack" set up for like 10 bucks? Little less than that. And considering there is Smirnoff, various Mike's products, ales, beers and other goodies? Worth it.
Are we going to drink our six packs? No. I'll probably drink one or two and bring the rest home to indulge in over the next few months. I'm odd like that. I rarely drink but when I do I do it sparingly.
Yes, I'm over 21. So yes, I'm legal. More than. Thank you.
But we're going to need something to relax with on the 11th because we're going to be out ALL day on the 10th. Fun times. Really.
Anyways, I hope to see you here next week! Keep an eye out on Fridays for when I start posting my short pieces. :D

Camp National Novel Writing Month July - 7/25 to 7/30 and Final Thoughts

So, wow. Today was good to me. Or at least mostly good to me. I got up kind of late (because I went to bed kind of late, so whoospies), and started to write. It took me some time and a lot of cursing, but I did get the words down! Which is awesome since I just have over 2K to write and I can easily do that in a couple of days.
So that's what I'm going to do in the morning. I'm going to write. I am also, hopefully, going to get a few more of my short pieces written down. Hopefully.
And figure out what my plans for the next few Monday blog posts are. Joy.

1: I have written another short piece for my future blog story bits. It's got big bold warnings at the top. Can't say I don't warn the shit out of you.
2: My back is full on "Fuck you, bitch" mode because I dared to sneeze. going to write a blog about being a spoonie and a writer. Not sure how that will turn out.
Might see it come next week. We'll see how it goes.

Thoughts and Notes:
I have made it over the hurdle of a muse not wanting to work with me. Please ignore the cursing muse. She has a large amount of hot chocolate, coffee and tea at her disposal along with several treats that she is allowed to have.
Now, what happened to me getting my word count done before the 27th as I usually do?
Well...my muse wanted to play with an interesting story subject that kind of formed from my Magical world. I have a duology/series (still trying to decide on what will happen past books 1 and 2 so it might just be a duology) that is very much a tumblr inspired series but with my own interesting twist. Well me and a fellow writer in the Forward Motion chat room got to talking about sexualities. I.E. asexuality, demisexuality, aromanticism, demi-romanticism, and so on.
Which sparked a rather interesting idea for a character who is an asexual witch who practices sex magic and how that would work for this character since they need the sex.
The rituals never said that the sex had to be fun while they were doing it after all. So it's going to be an interesting exercise in presenting this character without pissing everyone off. Because no, the sex in this book will not be for the fun of it between two characters. Rather it's for magical purposes.
It's like sacrificing an animal, fruits or other items to whoever they are calling to this character. It needs to be done for their magic to its job. Simple as that.
So I'm doing more research into asexuality.
Thus my muse wandered off to try to play with this idea. Luckily I got it under control and working on this last bit because I have a mini story (such stories are usually between 5 and 15 chapters in length) that is prodding at my brain so I'm going to go start that.
Get it out of my head for a while.
But I'm happy to have gotten my validation done and in and all that good shit! Hurrah me.
For July 29 and July 30th, please see my final Thoughts and Notes down below.
Final Thoughts and Notes:
What to say about this last month? Cause really? There isn't much TO say about it.
This month has been full of lots of ups and downs, both in my writing and in my personal life. I have been helping a friend get past the loss of the last family member that really cared for her while we wait for her therapy place to have another opening to get anti-depressants again. Which is hard enough to do when you're not doing good as it is, but this is just that much harder.
I've also been editing and fiddling around with a few videos that need to be posted but that does take time to do. Which kind of sucks but it happens.
I did get a story done, which is nice. Even though I wanted to get further into one of my stories, but that happens sometimes. For now though I'm doing a few days of rewriting to give my creative brain a bit of a rest.
I have been doing next to nothing but writing.
My head hurts and I'm exhausted. But this is normal.
Yes, I did get my verification in and I did get my goodies. Which makes me happy.
Now, mind you, I'm not normal when it comes to the amount of wins versus losses in that I have yet to lose a Camp or a Nano. I don't have much of a life outside of my writing okay? I really don't. Mostly due to the fact that I do have issues being around other humans and crowds, and getting around.
So to all those who have done this round, win or lose, congratulations on having joined us in this insanity that is Camp National Novel Writing Month.
See you in November for National Novel Writing Month!

Mmm, what to say about today? It went surprisingly well. I got lots of words after midnight rolled around. Got two chapters down and introduced a more sexualized character then I normally do. It'll be a slow start for the most part, since I do have to kick a few characters around before we get to the meat of the story.
I also got some rewriting done which was nice. Now that it's after 4AM I'm going for more words and hopefully I'll get them done before I crash out. That is if I don't crash out in self defense from hallucinations. Tea and coffee will be my friends for this month. I swear.

It's nearly 8PM as I write this starter bit to today's section and I'm compulsively scratching at my skin. This tells me that my anxiety is high. It's not because of the fact that I'm doing Camp NaNo, it's because I'm not writing.
That is, I haven't gotten enough writing in for the last couple of days to really do me any kind of good to satisfy my hypergraphia. If you're new to my blog, hypergraphia is like a physical itch, a need to write. I can't just stop writing.
I end up with anxiety and scratching at my own skin. I've already scratched myself bloody a few times since this shit really kicked in, so I'm trying very hard not to do that now. I think that I will take a few minutes, shape my nails (and get rid of any rough edges) and take a hot bath while reading. After that, I will sit down, watch MrKravin on youtube (watching his play through of Until Dawn), write and I think...just ignore the world for a little while.
There is just so much hate going on that people who have all sorts of triggers for their anxiety are probably going through a lot of what I'm going through. We just want the hate to stop, to let us breath and be what we keep saying we are.
I'm not going to get into that because that's just not a pretty thought process and it's not what my blog is all about.
So I'm going to go play some Knights and Brides on Facebook, watch my twitter for interesting links to click that are rather random and have nothing to do with the outside world, take a hot bath, and watch some interesting play throughs while I write.
I'll keep you guys updated on what is going on.

So I got words. After midnight. I was able to just cool off (since it's been pushing 109, 110 here again) and finish off that chapter. Tried to write after I woke up. Didn't work. Not all that well at least. So I read a lot, crash early, handwrite a chapter to my Superhero novel.
So once I type those words up I'll lay claim to those later this week. So that's nice.

I am slowly getting words when a fellow spoonie comes up with "Some people have euphoria during migraines? I want."
Now mind you, euphoria during a migraine pretty much means you don't care you're hurting, you feel good emotionally and somewhat mentally while the pills are working. But the moment that migraine is gone and euphoria wanes, there's a crash.
I hate to break it to her, but that crash can be BRUTAL. I have, at least when I feel the migraine coming on. When I wake up to one, not so much because I'm well past that stage into "damn it, hospital here I come" stage by then.
But it's the crash that really can mess with someone. Cause you have all these lovely feelings/thoughts/whatever going through you and they die a horrible death once the migraine is gone. It's like a bad drug trip that started out wonderful okay?
It's not worth it and I've been fighting off sinus headaches for the last two days so I'm going to take some sinus pills and write.
10:45 PM
I got my words. Barely before I have to crash out, and I suspect hard, but I got them! Hurrah. Or something. Ugh.

I swear.

Okay, so I got a few words in but nothing to add to my count. Why? Because I crashed out so hard when I finally went to bed. It was ridiculous. I try tomorrow.

Oh look, words! Yay for me! I got up at 6:30AM and it only took me until about 4PM to get the words. Why? Because I was exhausted and felt like dragging my feet mostly. Luckily I didn't have to shop today but I'll be doing so tomorrow. Which will be nice.
I hope.
Anyways, I'm going in for more words. Time to roll up those sleeves and get them!

Camp National Novel Writing Month July - 7/1 to 7/3
Today's EarWorm: Spells by Orgy
Today's Date: July 4, 2016
This one is kind of short since I just started Camp on Friday, and seeing as these things from from Monday to Sunday, this is the last 3 days.
So let's get started, shall we?
I had to work on figuring out what song was the best earworm, but that took me a bit. I finally decided on the above so I do hope that you enjoy.

So I kind of started rather late all things considered, about 10 in the morning, 3 hours after I got up. I was going to start at Midnight but about that time I got up from my nap with a migraine that was pounding in time with my heart beat. So I took pain killers (enough to drug me into sleep for about 6 and a half hours and leave me a bit fuzzy for the rest of the day), ate some toast, drank a bit of coffee, took a hot shower, and crashed. Crashed out hard.
Well worth it though.
But I did get two chapters on another story written, mostly because it was going to be one long chapter, but I had to split up one of my chapters into two which annoyed me. But hey, I'm not one to leave a long chapter in one piece unless it's sex. Then it stays put because I don't like to split up sex scenes.
I also got a chapter on another story rewritten, which made me happier. I'm going to go take a hot bath and depending on the time here, I will either be going to bed or writing another chapter. We'll see how it goes once I take my meds and relax a bit.
Because tomorrow? Long ass shopping trip. Very long ass shopping trip. Urgh.

I went shopping starting around 11 in the morning. I didn't get home until close to 5 that night. And that was with like ten minutes sitting down and eating actual food while figuring out money and budget. Yeah, it was not a fun day.
Haul video is going to be recorded and edited later on. For now I have words to do.

Okay, so first of all, that total is AFTER midnight on the 4th, so on the 3ed I got no words, but that is my current count.
Let me tell you what, I suffered all day with sore shoulders and a building migraine until I took a damn pain killer and some muscle relaxants. It turned out to be a good thing. But it still took me nearly 3 hours to unwind enough to write the chapter and get the word count.
Which happened just before 2:50 AM in the bloody morning. It's a good thing I have a lot of tea and coffee right?
Yes.
This month is not happy so far. Here's hoping the rest of the month is.

Preparing for Camp National Novel Writing Month July 2016 Pt 4
Today's Earworm: Bradley Caleb Kane "Once" Or Alice Cooper's "I Am Made of You"
Today's Date: June 27, 2016
I'm actually writing this on the 23ed of June, so the numbers are a bit odd because I'm kind of doing mass amounts of writing. You'll see down below yes?
Yes.
We are coming up on the last week before July starts. July 1st is on Friday so I'm going to finish getting ready to do my July. I have set my word count on the Camp NaNo site and have set up my novel choice for it.
Word count goal is 35K, or 35,000.
Story is a fanfiction that can easily turn into an original. Why? Because this story is nomming at my brain and all of the ideas for it are already making me cackle and make my fellow writers on Forward Motion chat cackle with me.
Some of the gems that I've shared? I warn you now, this is also on my twitter and is Not Safe For Work (NSFW). Or at least most of them aren't.
But whatever.

- I have a ball gag and ropes. I will truss you up like a kinky turkey to get you to shut up!
- Fuck. He went from "where's your daddy?" to "Fuck me daddy"!
- Female character seeing the above character topic in 2: Well...damn! Fuck me daddy and make me cream! (Yeah, that's not subtle at all.)
Yes, this will be a rather sexual romp into another side of a world that we can only speculate. I'm actually trying hard to finish another story before Camp, but that might not happen.
67 chapters long, and I'm only on chapter 56 okay? I have 11 chapters to write in 7 days and some odd hours because it's just after 2AM here on the 23ed, so yeah. Fun times.
I can get a good chunk of those chapters done (about 7 of them at the least) but I'm going to have to scatter them amongst the other chapters for this story so I can have it completely finished before my 10 week (by the 27th happens) end date of my other story.
Joys.
I'm not doing to bad all things considered but anything smutty (and I'm talking down and dirty, ranchy, pull out the toys for a little fun after reading that shit sex) has been a hard fought battle to get down.
Thank you whoever invented disposable pens that actually write nicely, and lined 3 ringed paper. Thank you.
Yes. I have been writing by hand my smut. Let me tell you what, some of my pieces have gone from 3K up to hitting nearly 5K okay? And that's for one frickin' chapter.
I also have a few other things I need to get off my list some I'm at the point of "Okay, where's my coffee and an all night spree of horror game playthroughs?"
My current choice (outside of Markiplier's "Amnesia" play throughs)? MrKravin. He really does have a very nice voice. I can tell you that.
Anyways, I'm going to go plot and write and curse and pull an all nighter so I can sleep most of the hot, hot, unbearably hot, day away. Seriously world? 120 degrees fahrenheit?
Yeah, I have to deal with that shit. Got to love desert living.
For now all, I hope you guys enjoy your day and hope that the words come easy!
As of Sunday, 6/26/2016: I have written 57 chapters, removed one chapter, and come down to 66 chapters. Why? Because one chapter didn't seem to fit once I got to it. So yeah, that happened. I have also hand written one (1) out of who knows how many smaller one-shots. I currently have about 6 oneshots for this story on the list but I'm also trying to get through my Through the Ages bk 1 first draft done.
But I'm still doing good considering I'm nearly living off of American Breakfast Tea (the tea version of a good cup of coffee) currently because my sleep schedule is shortened due to being flipped.
I'm going back to writing and twitter.

Let's Talk...Abandoning a Story and Updates
Today's Earworm: The Way of Your World by Destrophy
Today's Date: May 30, 2016
Okay, so sit back and close your eyes. Imagine you're reading a story (on Fictionpress.net, or WattPad, or any service like that and you come to the last two chapters.
But wait! They're not chapters! They're an Author's Note that is telling you they're ditching the story or stories for whatever reason. Usually it's something stupid like "I don't get enough reviews/likes/kudos/whatever to post more on this so fuck all of my readers who really enjoy this story".
Or they're not even an Author's Note, they're actual chapters but the story hasn't been updated in years, so you go to the profile page of the person. And they state that they aren't doing their stories any more for a bad reason*.
*Bad reasons are those reasons that you have to stare at and go "What? What kind of bull is this?" This does NOT include reasons that include mental problems, emotional problems, computer problems, or reasonable real life excuses.
Now this really pushes my buttons (and the fact that I had to edit this several times to make it less ranty and more actually informative is telling you something I hope) and I seem to keep running across it.
Both in the world of fanfiction and site based originals. In regards to site based originals, I am talking about such sites like WattPad, Adult-Fanfiction, Archive of Our Own, and Fictionpress.net. Yes, AFF.org and AO3 both do have original sections but you have to kind of dig around for the better things.
I can and do understand life getting in the way. I've had stuff make it so that I wasn't posting, much less writing, for months at a time. So thank you to those who have updated us about their lives and where things are going for you , and I hope life balances out and doesn't kill the muse on you completely.
But I can't understand people not trying to find a balance in their life with their writing.
Okay, look. This is kind of an interesting subject because I had to work on finding a balance with my own writing and life when I was younger.
I have to say this again though: I can and do understand that life can get in the way or your writing and this is directed to those whose life is kind of not writing allowable currently. This is directed to those who say that they want to write, but don't do anything to figure out a schedule or work ethic.
I keep finding those who go "I want to be published/publish" but for some reason ditch a story (even if it is just fanfiction or an original on a site) because they're not getting any reviews/kudos/what have you.
I'm going to impart a bit of truth: Unless you are an established writer who has a good sized fanbase who feels they can trust you in getting your stories out and written and looking good, you won't be getting many reviews. Or pimping. Or anything like that.
Allow me to break it down into simple terms. For those who self-publish, they work their asses off to get any kind of reviews for their books, much less any "You should read this book!" reviews. Most traditionally published writers work just as hard depending on their popularity at the time and the company that is publishing them. They tend to still talk about their own stuff on their own blogs, web sites, and social media accounts.
If you have problems with the fact that most readers on a free to read site doesn't review or kudo, then you're going to have many more problems with the fact that your books won't have that many reviews. At least not until you start creating a fan base that trusts you in putting out a good book.
And in this world, holding a book hostage for reviews is career suicide. It's career suicide to hold a chapter to an online story as it is anyways. People are getting kind of tired of that and tend to pick up and move on.
Yes, I do have some stories that aren't done, but that's because I have decided that I need to sit down and tear them into bitty pieces to rewrite them, if not just turn into some new books.
No, I am not abandoning them.
Yes, they will be done.
No, I do not know when the stories will be done.
No, I do not know if I will replace the posted chapters on my sites with the new stories.
I'm not that far along in this process after all. But that doesn't mean that I've abandoned my stories, okay? I'm working on them, and I won't abandon them. The same goes with my fanfiction. I have to much fun with it to give it up ever.
And I don't know if I want to turn my Butterfly Series into something publishable.
Now, onto something a bit happier, as a general update on things, I am preparing for National Novel Writing Month (November 2016) and the next Camp National Novel Writing Month (July 2016), so we're going to see where I'm at when it comes time.
I'm hoping to finish Bk 1 of Through the Ages series, which is my hero series. That will allow me time to set it aside for a couple of months before I start the massive rewriting overhaul of the story itself. I'm also going to work on a couple of other fictions that I need to get done and start a couple of others, including my submission to Forward Motions 2016 Anthology.
I need to rethink my plot for that as it is. I have a few ideas but I need to rethink it.
So I'm busy as always, melting from the heat, and editing videos for my vlog and for the youtube channel that I am a part of with my friend. Need to get the intro video done though if it keeps giving me trouble I'm going to say screw it and rerecord it when I can.
As for the NaNo story that I'm going to do this year, I'm working on a fanfiction idea that is driving me up a wall so I'm going to write it. I have around 11 chapters planned out already. Here's hoping I have the rest ready to go.
Anyways, I have a lot to do today and very little time to do it.
So for now, I shall leave you with this and go about trying to find a story that is complete, long, and not abandoned. Wish me luck!

Writers Meme Tag Questions 1
Today's Ear Worm:
Today's Date: May 16, 2016
First and foremost, go over to this here Link, and read my interview done by the every lovely Connie! It's my first one and I kind of had fun doing it.
But I decided to do a couple of writer tags but just do them on here since I can't do a video properly right now due to my throat.
So this is part one and the list of questions if you wish to do it yourself is here on Maxkrin's Tumblr Blog.
01: When did you first start writing?
When did I first start writing? Gods years and years and years ago. I was about 12 years of age actually when I started scribbling silly little poems before moving onto fanfiction that will never see the light of day right around 15.
02: What was your favorite book growing up?
I didn't really have a favorite book until I was like 14. And then it was Anne Rice's "Interview with a Vampire" which expanded to a few of her other books.
03: Are you an avid reader?
Yes, I am. I read quite a bit actually.
04: Have you ever thrown a book across the room?
No. No, wait yes, once. When I tried to read "50 Shades of Grey". I threw it hard enough to break the spine.
11: What’s your favorite book cover?
Mmm, not sure actually. But it has to be J.A. Marlow's series book covers.
12: Who is your favorite author?
I don't really have a favorite author actually. Surprisingly enough I really don't.
13: What’s your favorite writing quote?
Frank Miller's quote about a noir hero. It's a good thing to have in mind when writing it.
"The noir hero is a knight in blood caked armor. He's dirty and he does his best to deny the fact that he's a hero the whole time."
24: What’s your favorite & least favorite part of plotting?
My favorite part of plotting is creating it. My least favorite is sitting down and fleshing it out. It's a pain but it must happen.
25: What advice would you give to young writers?

No. No, wait yes, once. When I tried to read "50 Shades of Grey". I threw it hard enough to break the spine.
I. Do. Not. Regret. It. One. Tiny. Bit.
05: Did you take writing courses in school/college?
Outside of the basic English courses, no I didn't. I find that if I try to take a course on writing it tends to mess with my writing and I don't learn anything at all because I'm sitting there going "this is to stiff". It's kind of counter-productive.
06: Have you read any writing-advice books?
Again, they tend to be counter-productive for me, but I have read a few when I was first starting to write and looking to become better. One thing that I've taken from them is all "practice is a good thing" and "editing is your friend". So pretty much what I knew.
07: Have you ever been part of a critique group?
No because the last time someone asked for a crit, I was rather blunt that read as harsh since the bit that I was reading didn't look like she had tried to edit it much less make it look like a story.
08: What’s the best piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten?
Not a lot actually since I rarely share my stories, but the best bit I could have gotten was from a wonderful friend who told me to try psychological horror. I have and have learned that I love writing in that.
09: What’s the worst piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten?
"You suck. Your story sucks. Your characters suck." That's it. Yeah. Not the least bit helpful.
10: What’s your biggest writer pet-peeve?
Dialogue tags and punctuation! I swear people seem to not know how to write dialogue tags with proper punctuations. Let's not go into that yes? It's not that hard to understand. *sighs*

And "Damsel in distress with more than one guy after her". Just...overkilled lately.

"The noir hero is a knight in blood caked armor. He's dirty and he does his best to deny the fact that he's a hero the whole time."
14: What’s your favorite writing blog? c;
No real favorites again. I watch and read so many that I don't have a solid favorite for various reasons.
15: What would you say has inspired you the most?
My mother. She's been here from day one and encouraged me to find a new story in everything that I do. Which is what I'm inspired by. Just living my life and moving through things.
16: How do you feel about movies based on books?
They would be well done I think but I think that it would need to be watched by the writer if they're alive, or someone who knows the books well enough to make sure that the important things get into the movies.
17: Would you like your books to be turned into TV shows, movies, video games, or none?
I wouldn't mind any of them actually. But my books would probably be better to be movies more than TV shows and video games. Except my Magical Girl series actually. That would make a good TV show if done right.
18: How do you feel about love triangles?
Love triangles actually kind of annoy me to a point. Unless it's very well done, I tend to stay away from them when it comes to reading or writing them.
19: Do you prefer writing on a computer or longhand?
A mix actually. It depends on the story and what I'm doing during that month. During April and July (Camp National Novel Writing Months), I tend to write on my computer with very little longhand, and during November (National Novel Writing Month) I write exclusively on my laptop.
20: What’s your favorite writing program?
My favorite writing program is actually just Gdocs and OpenOffice Writer. I don't have the money for anything else really so I'm happy with what I have.
21: Do you outline?
Yes, yes I do, mostly because if I don't I'm not going to get far.
22: Do you start with characters or plot?
Mix actually. I'll start with a few characters and work the plot out that comes with them.
23: What’s your favorite & least favorite part of making characters?
Creating personalities, figuring out looks, and sexuality. All of that is just such a pain in my ass but I do it.
No real favorites again. I watch and read so many that I don't have a solid favorite for various reasons.

25: What advice would you give to young writers?
Research is your best friend. That old adage "Write what you know" doesn't have to mean "don't fucking well learn nothing in the course of your damn life". You have books. The internet. Use it! Learn things. It'll come in handy with your writing and with your life to.
Come back next week for the second half of the questions!

Peeking Into My Mind
Today's Ear Worm: Highwayman by Beseech
Today's Date: May 9, 2016
Forwarning: This is going to be slightly rambly because there has been a lot that has gone on in the last 9 plus days. But this is what I'm going through and what I'm thinking and what I'm planning so buckle in and read each section's title.

Forwarning: This is going to be slightly rambly because there has been a lot that has gone on in the last 9 plus days. But this is what I'm going through and what I'm thinking and what I'm planning so buckle in and read each section's title.
My Friend Tonya
The last couple of months have been extraordinarily busy for my friend. She has, like me, chronic pain, but unlike me she has found a good chronic pain specialist who has been sending her to get various tests done. Which is good for her.
But makes life a tad busy for all of us since some of those tests are to see how she reacts to epidurals steroid shots. What happens is she's put under so that they can take long ass needles and stick them on either side of her spine.
She did the last one of her spine shots on May 2nd and I was babysitting a mutt while exhausted and doing a younow stream. I'll talk about the stream later in this post, promise. But she has a few other shots to go yet and those will be happening on the 9th and later on the 26th of this month.
She also lost her mother on Wednesday but we have been prepared for this for a long time. 7 Years and about 5 different types of cancer in those years will do that to someone who is having to watch. We knew that she wouldn't have long since the doctors couldn't unfortunately do a whole lot since through all of the other cancer's she became allergic to the chemotherapy and it was such an aggressive cancer this time.
She lasted a month at home with hospice care, dying with her husband by her side, holding her hand.
Tonya spent yesterday smoking her cigarettes and having an adult smoothie. Fruits, vanilla smirnoff vodka, and some juice okay? Adult smoothie.
So my friend isn't bad, but still it's been a stressful time for all of us since we do have to go with her to the appointments due to the fact that she is knocked out for the shots.
Camp National Novel Writing Month
Yep, that's right, I won April's round of Camp! I'm rather proud of myself really since it was such a fight to get the words out and down. I got about four chapters into Book 0 of the Don't Look series, the book called Thread the Needle. I have to work out what I want to continue to work on with it before I do anything with it thought so that's going to take time.
I did get some one-shots, gift fictions and a few other things done which was nice.
But still it was so hard to get the words down, but I did get them.
Personal Life
My personal life is just kind of eh right now. I'm having to say no to people just to keep my sanity and of course jury duty decided to pop up. *rolls eyes* So now I'm having to go "I can't do jury duty because of this reason" and having to call them and all that good shit. I'm sighing and stressing.
Not good for my health.
Writing
My writing is actually going okayish. I'm getting words, which is nice, but I spent most of last week rewriting with very little actual writing because I was just so busy with everything else.
I am focusing on Thread the Needle, figuring out what I want to do with it and how to go about doing it. I have the family and their names, have hinted at how the world is built (because it's historical but it's not at the same time), and have been thinking about how to mess around with that world.
I'm about 17 chapters through my first book of my superhero series, called Ages, and still have something like 19 more chapters to write before I put it to the side to sit and contemplate the second story for the series. It's now up to about 8 books in the series, but it's going to be interesting to write in the long run.
I'm also working on book 1 of my Crimson series that is pretty much the rewritten version of my NaNo book from 2010 or there about. That's making me happy.
I'm also doing the next anthology for Forward Motion (2016 one, 2015 shall be out soon!) with the prompt "Open Roads". I need to write that so I can have time to rewrite and edit it actually. I'm planning on doing that sometime this month.
Younow Streaming
Yes! I stream on Younow.com. I'm called SunnyLewis on there and I've only done 1 or 2 so far. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get things going so we'll see how things do in the following months. I have decided that I will be doing a stream every week as long as I'm up to it, but I just need to figure out the best time to do so seeing as I live in Arizona and we have our own time zone.
Can you see the rolling eyes? Yes? Good.
I'm thinking Sunday's around noon or 1PM will be best so we'll test that out for the next few months.
My Twitter account has the announcements of me online, along with my tumblr and facebook! So keep an eye out on that. :D
Well, that turned out less rambely then I thought it would be. Huh.
Anyways, if you have any topic that you would like to see come around, feel free to comment and suggest!
Also, on Connie's Random Thoughts on May 11th, she will be posting the interview with me! My first interview! Woot! I hope you guys enjoy and read it. :D

Camp National Novel Writing Month April 2016 - Days 25 to 30
Today's Ear Worm: Billy Talent "Pins and Needles"
Today's Date: May 2, 2016
April 25:
Word Count: 0
Total Word Count: 33,622
Thoughts for the Day:
I spent the day going up to Gilbert. I'm exhausted and just to tired to do anything but crash out hard for the day. Nights all.
April 26:
Word Count:
Total Word Count:
Thoughts for the Day:
I have officially validated my novel! Yay! I hit just over 35K words which made me very, very happy. I'll work on getting more words probably tomorrow.
I do need sleep though. Still getting over yesterday's trip.
April 27:
Word Count: 374
Total Word Count: --
Thoughts for the Day:
4:33PM
I actually started kind of late today but that's mostly because I was reading through Necia Pheonix's book and seeing how it read.
Two hours, 22 chapters, and a cliff hanger as I wait for more to come my way...and I'm hooked. *sighs*
I'm going to finish off another short story today since I need to get it done.
Midnight:
I got my rewriting done but that's about it. I started on actual words but only got about 200 in. That kind of sucked.
April 28:
Word Count: 2544
Total Word Count: --
Thoughts for the Day:
I did get those words done! One long as chapter that happily feel in about 2,544 words total, so that made me happy!
I also got a friend hooked on two of my stories. Which is fun. I cackled and teased her with ideas for future chapters. She pouted and demanded more.
Now I'm just rewriting an older story and getting that off of my plate (I'm still pretty damn far from the end actually), but it's slow going since it was well over 3K when I started editing it.
April 29:

Thoughts for the Day:
12:31AM:
I am still editing this monster of a chapter. Seriously.
I have no idea when I'll finish this but I've gone through two cups of coffee, a cup of tea, and half a huge bowl of popcorn so far working on this thing. And the entire collection of "Duff Until Dawn" which was like 6 half hour episodes. So about 3 hours.
So much detail to rewrite! This is killer man.
1:19AM:
3 hours, 3 cups of coffee, and a shit ton of squinting and I have gotten it done! *flops* I added well over 1K worth of words to it to, so that was surprising.
Really, really surprising.
I'm going to get ready for bed, crash out for a few hours. Get up at 11 to take a shower and wait for my friend to get her ass over here so we can go do things.
See you guys later!
April 30:
Word Count:
Total Word Count:
Thoughts for the Day:
I've been pretty much working on rewriting and putting down notes for one of my stories. I am still exhausted after yesterday. If you noticed, I didn't write anything yesterday because I was exhausted after all our shopping.
So rewriting and figuring out what to write tomorrow for the final thoughts on this April is pretty much what I'm doing today.
Fun times.
Final Thoughts on Camp National Novel Writing Month April 2016:
So this month was interesting. Seriously interesting since it was so busy outside of my writing.
I had days where I didn't have a single word put down and some days where I couldn't stop writing, which balanced everything out.
I got 3 chapters of "Thread the Needle" down but I need to plan a few more chapters out before I write on it some more. I want to get it done by maybe December, or at least the first draft.
I did get some fanfiction done and I'm working on finishing up a couple of other stories before I do anything since I have so much to finish.
And so little time.
I'm thinking that I will be doing the "Story-A-Day" thing on Forward Motion Writers, level 1 or 2 (which are light versions), and posting them here come June. So keep an eye out for those!
And maybe I can figure out a few of my stories, get a few other things done. Here's hoping.
But I think that I will make sure that July kisses my ass and I work on things during that month. Don't have much else to do after all.

Camp National Novel Writing Month April 2016 - Days 18 to 24
Today's Ear Worm
Today Date: April 25, 2016
April 18:
Word Count: 1,467
Total Word Count: 28,003
Thoughts for the Day:
7:44PM
I have no idea what to say. I'm exhausted, wanting to just sleep for the next six years, but I'm working my way through some Marilyn Manson songs on my spotify so that's always fun. I've also completely rewritten 2 chapters of one of my stories so far, so that is making me happy.
Let's see if I can get a third one done.
Midnight:
I got the last one done. I go boom.
April 19:
Word Count: 0
Total Word Count: 28,003
Thoughts for the Day:
Midnight:
Writing? What is this writing you speak of?
Actually I did get a lot of writing done but I've been meh all day. I got around 524 words on this gift story for a friend chapter done then my mind went "Wheee!" without me and left me going "The flying fuck?".
That's not...really an odd thing though. ADD does that to a person. I figure it was because I wasn't listening to the right music today.
So we'll see how tomorrow's writing goes.
Ah...? What? Oh! The ADD and music thing? How does that work?
Well, for me at least (cause I do NOT speak for the rest of those who have ADD or ADHD, and if you don't know what those terms mean, click the links), I have to have noise of some kind. It's sometimes a TV Show (I watch a lot of anime, and I enjoy Rosewood when I have time to catch up on Hulu). Sometimes it's a movie (horror mostly. I like The Puppet Master and Paranormal Activity most often than not). But mostly it's something like music.
Today I was listening to a band (for the most part) called Abney Park. They're...steampunk meets gothic southern in terms of sound and I happen to really love their song "Airship Pirates". Or "Steampunk Revolution".
But I don't think it was a good idea to listen to them while writing. It may be a good idea later, but not at the moment, but that happens.
I'll see what happens tomorrow.
April 20:
Word Count: 1,792
Total Word Count: 29,795
Thoughts for the Day:
8:31:
Let's see, I got on, took a hot shower because I slept wrong on my shoulder (whoops), and reread over what I had written. I took a moment, got some breakfast of a kind, ate, and then opened twitter.
I stated that I was sitting at 524 words and would be rewriting it. I finished the rewriting at 677 words, and the chapter at 1,503, but now I need to rewrite what I added to the first bit of rewriting.
So no matter how this goes, I've gotten 1,503 words total! Sweet. That makes me happy. But I think I'm going to rewrite for the rest of the day and keep in mind for future chapters that I have the option of rewriting what I've already written, even if I'm not finished with the chapter.
I've also started a twitter hastag list for myself because my superhero series (now called Through the Ages) got it's own hastag (#ThroughTheAge) so that rocked. I also have 8 books in that series instead of 7.
Just made more work for myself there, but that happens I suppose?
But yes, the music was what was messing with me. I've been listening to a list on Spotify called "Writers Block Inspiration" all day long and I've been able to focus. Which is very nice.
9:26:
And yes! Finished that chapter. Going to work on getting some rewriting done. Wish me luck!
April 21:
Word Count: 0
Total Word Count: 29,795
Thoughts for the Day:
I didn't get any words actually. I was just so tired and kind of out of it. But that's about normal for me. But I did start the words. I just didn't finish said words until after Midnight. Whoops?

I actually got a chapter done and then rewrote another chapter on another story. Which was a total yay moment since I didn't get to bed until around 9:24AM this morning. I luckily finished the writing before I crashed, since I didn't get up until 4:15 PM.
Whoops.
Yes, I say that a lot.

I go boom.

Midnight:

Camp National Writing Month April 2016 - Days 11 to 17
Today's Ear Worm: Stitches by Orgy
Today's Date: April 18, 2016
April 11:
Word Count: 1,515
Total Word Count: 17,933
Thoughts for the Day:
So after I got something like 3 bits of writing done, I had a bit of a hard time getting back into the writing. But I did get something down and written, so that made me exceedingly happy with that.
April 12:
Word Count: 1,434
Total Word Count: 19,367
Thoughts for the Day:
Again, a long day but I got words done after going from my superhero book to another story that didn't have sex in the next chapter. I'm happy though and I'm going to write happy times tomorrow. Wish me luck. :D
April 13:
Word Count: 0
Total Word Count: 19,367
Thoughts for the Day:
1:36PM:
I had to update the last couple of days because I forgot to do so on those days. I was trying REALLY hard to get those words out but I'm not focused and ready to go at it. I think I'm going to make a cup of Chocolate Orange Tea and write this sex scene in my superhero story.
Midnight:
I didn't make the words. I'm heading to bed because I'm falling asleep over my keyboard right now so I need to crash out. Nights!
April 14:
Word Count: 1,977
Total Word Count: 21,344
Thoughts for the Day:
3:03PM:
After a bit of set up I'm finally getting into new words. Here's hoping that I'll get this done. And yes, I know, my reports of this shit has been getting small.
I've been out of it and doing other things. So sorry.
But I'm hoping to get these a little longer.
9PM:
And I finished the chapter and even did some rewriting. I took a short nap for about 30 minutes around 6, and it was a welcomed distraction. I'm happily awake, for the moment, but will crash out very soon here.
I need sleep that doesn't include me waking up at the butt crack of dawn again. I hate when that happens.
But I suppose that I shall live, yes?
April 15:
Word Count: 0
Total Word Count: 21,344
Thoughts for the Day:
No actual words done. I swear that I got up and then suddenly it was late. I did start to get some words but not a lot all things considered. It's kind of a normal thing but still. That sucked.
April 16:
Word Count: 3,252
Total Word Count: 24,596
Thoughts for the Day:
12:40PM
Woke up and took a shower. That helped me to wake up so I'm going to start on getting some more words today. Cross the fingers.
Midnight:
I got 2, count 'em, 2!, chapters written up today! When I finished that second chapter, I squealed happily and twirled in my chair.
That hurt.
But I had some help. The lovely and sweet Crystal on Twitter (@CE_Writer) gave me some prompts (Owl, poison and haunted house) from her fantasy prompt dice. I took it and RAN with it. I pumped out so many words it was AMAZING.
I even got in a livestream with The Real Crazy M (@therealcrazym on twitter), which was a whole lot of fun. :D
Let's see how I do tomorrow, yes?
April 17:
Word Count: 1,940
Total Word Count: 26,536
Thoughts for the Day:
It is 9:54PM, and I'm about done with the only chapter that I was able to get this round alas. I woke up kind of late, about 1 instead of noon, which is odd for me nowadays since I tend to get up at a semi-decent hour.
Started writing about 3, and had to stop and rewrite everything that I had put down. It's so much smoother and once I finish this chapter, I'll rewrite the rest of it to fit in with the rewritten bit. Here's hoping yes?
11:18PM
As Five Finger Death Punch's song "Lift Me Up" plays on my Spotify, I'm sitting here going "F-my life", just without the censoring. Cause seriously...that was close!
*flops*

Camp National Novel Writing Month: Days 1 to 3, 2016
Today's Earworm: Bad Religions "Sorrow, Acoustic Version" or "Dearly Beloved Acoustic"
Today's Date: 4/1/2016 (April 4, 2016)
Warning: April 2nd was not kind to me. I do speak about a stomach that is not happy in the worst possible way. If you don't care for it, just skip the lighter purple text down there.
12:02 AM
Fuck. My. Muses. If you will excuse the language, but really! Fuck my muses! It's a few minutes after midnight on April 1st, I'm kind of avoiding Facebook, I'm pretty much on my twitter profile page, and tumblr is non-existent since about 7 yesterday evening due to the differing time zones.
Yeah, I don't do April Fools okay? I had a friend really screw me over with a fake death thing once. And it made it hard to believe her when she told me about the true death of another friend.
But we're here to talk about how my oh so lovely muses have screwed me over this time.
I was thinking about working on Book 1 of my "Don't Look" Series, which is called "A Delicate Thread", when my muses decided to be utter pains in my ass.
They decided that I needed to write the entire frickin' back history of my story. So guess what I'm doing?
That's right. I'm writing "Threading the Needle" for my Camp! *headdesk* I'm hoping that it won't be to horribly long but it might turn out because there's a lot to go over. About 20 years worth of history actually.
Insert a big gusty sigh here yes?
And before you ask about the series, and why I'm naming them the way I am, the names are all connected to thread, yarn, twine, ect. What have you. It's just been that way through out the entire time that I started writing the series.
Book 0: Thread the Needle
Book 1: A Delicate Thread
Book 2: Spin Me a Yarn
Book 3: Twist the Twine (which is quite actually a part of the character's story)
So there.
Fuck. My. Muses.
4:51 PM
I have no idea what I'm doing here. I got some words earlier, got it all done. Now I'm working on this story. I have a feeling that it's going to be interesting to get things done.
Here's hoping that I finish more words before the end of today.
8:25 PM
Well then! Got the word count down and out. Got a video out on my youtube video. Got a chapter on my story written, and now I'm going to go take a well deserved hot bath!
Tomorrow I'm going to work on another story that I need to get through before things happen. Insert a huffy sigh again.
For now, hugs and kisses. Good night all.
So it is just after 9PM here in Arizona-land and I'm exhausted even though I just got up about two hours ago.
Today was just one long fucked up session. I was heading to bed for a nap before my friend came over to grab my ass for shopping when my body goes "You need the bathroom". I ended up communing with my trash and actually gagging a few times.
What was it?
It was a flare up of pain that was unfortunately added to by another issue that I now have medication to take care of, so no worries on that. My mom calls my friend and tells her that I can't make it today unfortunately.
An hour later, a very hot shower, unable to even sip at room temperature water without communing with the trash can just in case, and my mom calls for an ambulance. I get dressed, slowly since moving hurt like a bitch and sit on my mom's bed seeing as I was using her shower (seeing as she had a shower seat and a hose shower head going on). That was about as far as I got before my body rejected whatever I had eaten.
Which had been about an hour and a half before (lean pocket with a couple crush orange/grape twizzlers).
They come in, listen to me reject my stomach contents three times in a row, and decide to just full on take me to the hospital.
I get there, get a room and take 30 minutes to lay a damn IV line. About ten minutes later (and finally getting blood drawn for the usual battery of tests), I have three new needle marks, an IV line, a fat bag of fluids to push, and a shot with pain killers and anti-nausea flowing into my system. It was nice to move without setting off a wave of level 10+ pain.
Around 12:30, 1, I'm finally getting out because I was so dehydrated that I needed the fattest IV bag that they can give you. It took about 20 minutes to get through half the bag, where usually it would take you about 40 minutes if they aren't pushing the fluids.
They weren't pushing the fluids. I just needed it like no one's business.
Anyways, I got out, called my cab, got home around 2:30. I ate some chicken soup (my mother is an awesome woman), laid down, and crashed until about 6 when my mom gave me my first round of pills. Got up about 7 with a sleep hangover. Took some more pain killers and ate.
I'm now about to crawl back into bed and curl up. I need sleep like nobodies business. And hopefully my stomach stops hating me randomly. I hate being sore after such things.
Hopefully I can get good words tomorrow.
Ah, finally, I have gotten my writing done since I had some rather interesting thoughts about things in the last few hours that took me taking a hot bath to relax and think about.
But I got chapter 2 of Thread the Needle done.
So much rewrite to be done. *sighs*
Just after midnight on the 4th, and I didn't finish my chapter but I'll get it later. I need to get some sleep here to deal with tomorrow.

Preparing for Camp National Novel Writing Month - April 2016 pt 3
Today's Ear Worm: Masashi Hamauzu "Storm Before The Calm"
Today's Date: March 28, 2016
You know what? I thought I would do something different than what I wrote originally for this blog.
As I write this blog, it's only the 17th of March (St. Patrick's Day) and I just dragged my falling apart recliner out to the garbage.
So as I was trying to post some pictures to Twitter (which apparently hate me), I decided that I should do a blog post about the physical aspect of preparing for Camp National Novel Writing Month.
So here it is!
How I physically got ready for the free for all of Camp NaNo.
Told in pictures. And a Video.

The view from my bed. Messy yes?
A better view.
I'm going to have to do some major cleaning before I start building the desk up!
I built the desk and killed myself doing so.
I'm ready. Bring it on!
There's a few people that I really want to thank for being such wonderful, inspiring people. And that I hope I don't annoy you to much.
Thank you, so much, for listening to me rant, rave, moan, and babble about my writing. You all inspire me so very much!
Note: All names are linked to their personal websites if I can find one for them, otherwise it's linked to their twitter or facebook. If I can find one or have one.
Necia Pheonix: NP, as I often call her, is a mother with a husband who is often working. She has some wonderful kids and one of them is actually getting into the writing world! She's a wonderful writer, an even more awesome mother, and an awesome snake mommy with some lovely babies.
She even has an Instagram to see her snaky babies on! Not going to link that though since she does have pics of kids on there to.
J.A. Marlow: Jammy!
I met Jam back in...2013 right around the time that NaNo was starting (November). They were a wonderful person then and they're a wonderful person now, so I'm honored that they are so delightful.
They just lost their mother though, Mother Hen, and the world wept when she finally lost the battle. 10 days after she went to sleep and never woke up. She was a fighter to the end and loved all things art and writing. I just wish I had gotten to see Mother Hen when she was healthier, more there and doing what she loved to do.
But I see MH in Jam and I'm always honored to know this wonderful person and to read their stuff.
...And to get attacked by bunnies from them.
Lazette Gifford (her picture blog and her Joyously Prolific Journal): I know Zette a bit, but she's always delightful to talk with and her writing abilities are awe aspiring. Her books are perfectly wonderful and I love seeing her cats. They are so beautiful, and always trying to help mommy with the words!
I am amazed and honored that I know her. And I hope that life keeps treating her well.
Ashe Elton Parker: What to say about this wonderful person? Ashe is always willing to chat and talk about writing and life as it goes along. They're a wonderful person and have been through a lot themselves. But they are happy and living life which is a beautiful thing.
They currently have only had stuff published in the Forward Motion Anthologies (2012, 2013, 2014, and I believe they put a fourth one in 2015's to, but I can't be sure) currently but they are working hard on creating a build up of stories.
Still, they're a wonderful author, a lovely person, and someone I respect.
Jennifer Amriss: Ah, what to say about the ever beautiful Arya? She is relatively new to the publishing world but less so to the writing world. She is beautiful and wonderful and so brilliant even though she worries about not being good enough.
I can tell you right now, I got my picky as all get out bibliophile of a friend ADDICTED to her stories. She's good. Trust me.
Take some time, go check out her site and bask in her amazing worlds. Buy her books as they come out and help support her and her kitty Punks. The kitty could use some catnip to drive her mommy even more insane.
Connie Cockrell: I have met Connie and I can tell you that she's a lovely, lovely person who needs more people reading her stuff. She started to write on a dare and got bit hard by the need for it!
But she's a wonderful woman who is a wonderful person, who comments occasionally on my posts here, so thank you, Connie. Really. Your words are always a welcomed sight to my eyes.
Kathleen Roberts: I actually met her on...Im' not sure where but I have her on facebook, and ever since I have been getting to know her quite well. She's got an amazing mind and goes outside of the box for her ideas. So I'm happy to have her in my life to.
:D It's always nice to have a friend who enjoys writing just as much as you do.
Now there are some people who I can't link to for various reasons, but I want to send out my thanks to Tonya, my heart sibling, Susan, a wonderful woman who is always willing to squeal about my stuff and is a dear friend, and her husband, Vaughan, who is like the brother that I always wanted.
So thank you three. For being my rock outside of my mother. Really.
And thank you to all those who are here now, who follow my twitter, tumblr, or facebook page. Who silently support me in their own ways or take time to send kind words.
It all means a lot.
Thank you.

An Updated Writing List - As of 2/1/2016
Today's Theme Song: TLC - Girl Talk
Date: February 2, 2016
Okay so this is an updated writing list, including everything that I'm working on building. I'll be posting another post about what I'm going to try to get done during the next couple of months. So look for that around the 15th.
This month I just want to get through the last of the month, finish some rereads and note taking on three of my stories.
This round I'll be writing out genre's/whatever I think they fall into at the point and time, along with pairing styles and the such.
Pretty much each series/story (if it's just a single story) will look like this.
Title:
Genre:
Pairing styles: (M/M, Poly, F/F, M/F, none)
Books in the series (if a series):
Notes on the story:
So let's get to this shall we?
Title: Untitled
Genre: Romance
Pairing styles: Male/Male (M/M)
Books in the series (if a series): 1
Notes on the story: I call this my Lex/Rose story and it's about 13 chapters at the moment. I'll be filling it out with more chapters to flesh out the main story line without seeming like it's rushed.
There will be sex, but not an overwhelming amount. It'll mostly be focusing on the characters, their building relationship, and the troubles that they have with their neighbors.
Title: All You Need
Genre: Romance
Pairing styles: M/M
Books in the series (if a series): None
Notes on the story: Again, this one will be expanded. There's only about 5 chapters in the current version and I want to build it up to at least 10 chapters, but I have no doubt that I can get it up to 20 or 30.
Title: Untitled
Genre: Romance
Pairing styles: M/M
Books in the series (if a series): None
Notes on the story: This one will be really heavily rewritten and edited because it's one of my oldest stories. It's going to be rather fun to write but I just need to get around to actually rereading and writing down my notes on it.
Title: Shades of Red series
Genre: Horror/Paranormal Horror
Pairing styles: M/M, F/M,
Books in the series (if a series): Planned so far is 3
Notes on the story: This is actually an older series that I had to drop and have just came to the point of where I just made it into it's own series of stories when the plot went a different direction. The first book, "Crimson Shadows", was actually written as a Nano project back in 2010, I think, but has since then grown and changed. I'm rewriting the entire book, fleshing things out, creating two books instead of just one book, and expanding the series.
It's looking good so far.
Title: Honey Drops Series
Genre: Romance/Sci-fi/Fantasy
Pairing styles: M/M, F/M, Poly, F/F
Books in the series (if a series): 6 books planned plus a book filled with bits and stories that didn't make it into the main story line
Notes on the story: Originally this series was only 3 books planned out but then I spent time with J.A. Marlow and found myself infested with more ideas for this world.
It's taking the "Gods are Aliens" and adding a twist to them. It's turning out rather nicely and so far Book 1 (no title yet) is about 5 chapters and I'm plotting out more chapters as we speak.
Title: "Magical Girl" Series
Genre: Fantasy/
Pairing styles: F/F, M/F
Books in the series (if a series): 2 books
Notes on the story: This actually started out as a Sailor Moon Fanfiction (thought about right around Sailor Moon Crystal, episode 12), but then I really thought about it and decided that it would make a lovely duology, at the least. So now I'm having to plan out this ENTIRE story line and make sure that it reads right.
It's still in the world building stage.
Title: A Living Zombie series
Genre: Dark Comedy/horror
Pairing styles: various
Books in the series (if a series): 2
Notes on the story: This was another story that was created by just hanging out with J.A. Marlow.
A weekend was all it took okay?
This one is probably going to be a pantsed story line with only a few chapters planned for and some plot points written down. It's looking to be fun though.
Title: Don't Look Series
Genre: Paranormal Horror
Pairing styles: Various (but not really a focus)
Books in the series (if a series): 4 books
Notes on the story: My current baby along with Honey Drops bk 1. I'm working on book 1 right now and getting through it slowly. Here's hoping that I actually get this written and build it up just right.
Title: A Magical Taste Series
Genre: Contemporary Fantasy
Pairing styles: Various
Books in the series (if a series): 2 books with possibly 4 total
Notes on the story: This is one that I want to do. Scanning through Tumblr has helped this world grow and build into what it will be.
It to is in the planning and world building stages.
Title: A Family Pack
Genre: Romance/Supernatural
Pairing styles: various
Books in the series (if a series): 3 with a possible of 5 books
Notes on the story: Again, this is another tumblr scanned built story. It's currently in the build up of the world and I'm hoping to have more planned out by 2017.
Title: The Ages Series
Genre: ...superheros?
Pairing styles: various
Books in the series (if a series): 7 books
Notes on the story: This one started because of a story that a friend asked for for her birthday. It just kind of grew from there.
I've got about 11 chapters of the first book (with 36 chapters planned) and I know that I'll be rewriting this story heavily so that it doesn't read like a comic book in book form.
Title: A Twist of Fate series
Genre: action/adventure/survivalist/romance
Pairing styles: various but not the focus
Books in the series (if a series): 2
Notes on the story: I started this one as a oneshot for the 2015 Anthology for Forward Motion (it's not out yet, the one who is editing it had family problems but she's working on getting it out here soon) and it grew into two books.
This is a twist on the post-apocalyptic world story and I'm hoping that it comes out rather interesting. :D Here's hoping.
Title: Untitled Story
Genre: Horror/Paranormal/Supernatural
Pairing styles: M/M
Books in the series (if a series): 2 books
Notes on the story: This started out as a Stand alone story but then Bellamy (one of my characters) ended up on the road to redemption and the plot expanded into a duology on me. It's going to be twisted and filled with a LOT of death. I'm having fun with it.
Title: Follow Me Down
Genre: Dark Fantasy
Pairing styles: M/M
Books in the series (if a series): just the 1
Notes on the story: This story started out as an "Alice in Wonderland" derivative, but it then turned around and changed. A lot. I've since gone in a different direction with the plot and have been reworking out my outline and my plot points on this story.
It's going to be fun to write.
Title: Black Veiled Saviour
Genre: Mystery
Pairing styles: M/M
Books in the series (if a series): standalone
Notes on the story: Another one that is an older story but I'm also getting through this one. I want to get Honey Drops book 1 done before I finish off this one.
Title: Untitled Prompt Story
Genre: Horror/Paranormal
Pairing styles: nothing truly important
Books in the series (if a series): stand alone
Notes on the story: My friend gave me a list of prompts and told me to write a story around it. So what did I do? Created a horror murder mystery. This one has been in the works since about 2014, and then I lost a bunch of files due to a rewrite of my flash drive. I found it late last year and have been rewriting and working on it again.
So that's my current list. So, total books that I have on my list so far?
36 books.
And I have NO doubt that I'll be creating more stories to write.
Well, I hope that you all enjoy your day and I'm going to do things.
Have a good day.
