7:44PM
I have no idea what to say. I'm exhausted, wanting to just sleep for the next six years, but I'm working my way through some Marilyn Manson songs on my spotify so that's always fun. I've also completely rewritten 2 chapters of one of my stories so far, so that is making me happy.
Let's see if I can get a third one done.
Midnight:
I got the last one done. I go boom.

Thoughts for the Day:
Midnight:
Writing? What is this writing you speak of?
Actually I did get a lot of writing done but I've been meh all day. I got around 524 words on this gift story for a friend chapter done then my mind went "Wheee!" without me and left me going "The flying fuck?".
That's not...really an odd thing though. ADD does that to a person. I figure it was because I wasn't listening to the right music today.
So we'll see how tomorrow's writing goes.
Ah...? What? Oh! The ADD and music thing? How does that work?
Well, for me at least (cause I do NOT speak for the rest of those who have ADD or ADHD, and if you don't know what those terms mean, click the links), I have to have noise of some kind. It's sometimes a TV Show (I watch a lot of anime, and I enjoy Rosewood when I have time to catch up on Hulu). Sometimes it's a movie (horror mostly. I like The Puppet Master and Paranormal Activity most often than not). But mostly it's something like music.
Today I was listening to a band (for the most part) called Abney Park. They're...steampunk meets gothic southern in terms of sound and I happen to really love their song "Airship Pirates". Or "Steampunk Revolution".
But I don't think it was a good idea to listen to them while writing. It may be a good idea later, but not at the moment, but that happens.
I'll see what happens tomorrow.

Thoughts for the Day:
8:31:
Let's see, I got on, took a hot shower because I slept wrong on my shoulder (whoops), and reread over what I had written. I took a moment, got some breakfast of a kind, ate, and then opened twitter.
I stated that I was sitting at 524 words and would be rewriting it. I finished the rewriting at 677 words, and the chapter at 1,503, but now I need to rewrite what I added to the first bit of rewriting.
So no matter how this goes, I've gotten 1,503 words total! Sweet. That makes me happy. But I think I'm going to rewrite for the rest of the day and keep in mind for future chapters that I have the option of rewriting what I've already written, even if I'm not finished with the chapter.
I've also started a twitter hastag list for myself because my superhero series (now called Through the Ages) got it's own hastag (#ThroughTheAge) so that rocked. I also have 8 books in that series instead of 7.
Just made more work for myself there, but that happens I suppose?
But yes, the music was what was messing with me. I've been listening to a list on Spotify called "Writers Block Inspiration" all day long and I've been able to focus. Which is very nice.
9:26:
And yes! Finished that chapter. Going to work on getting some rewriting done. Wish me luck!

Thoughts for the Day:
I didn't get any words actually. I was just so tired and kind of out of it. But that's about normal for me. But I did start the words. I just didn't finish said words until after Midnight. Whoops?
April 22:
Word Count: 2,040
Total Word Count: 31,835
Thoughts for the Day:
I actually got a chapter done and then rewrote another chapter on another story. Which was a total yay moment since I didn't get to bed until around 9:24AM this morning. I luckily finished the writing before I crashed, since I didn't get up until 4:15 PM.
Whoops.
Yes, I say that a lot.

Whoot! I got another chapter written down and ready to go. I'm about to work on a second chapter now. I'm SO close to winning this camp! Here goes nothing!

Today's Ear Worm: Stitches by Orgy
Today's Date: April 18, 2016
April 11:
Word Count: 1,515
Total Word Count: 17,933
Thoughts for the Day:
So after I got something like 3 bits of writing done, I had a bit of a hard time getting back into the writing. But I did get something down and written, so that made me exceedingly happy with that.
April 12:
Word Count: 1,434
Total Word Count: 19,367
Thoughts for the Day:
Again, a long day but I got words done after going from my superhero book to another story that didn't have sex in the next chapter. I'm happy though and I'm going to write happy times tomorrow. Wish me luck. :D
April 13:
Word Count: 0
Total Word Count: 19,367
Thoughts for the Day:
1:36PM:
I had to update the last couple of days because I forgot to do so on those days. I was trying REALLY hard to get those words out but I'm not focused and ready to go at it. I think I'm going to make a cup of Chocolate Orange Tea and write this sex scene in my superhero story.
Midnight:
I didn't make the words. I'm heading to bed because I'm falling asleep over my keyboard right now so I need to crash out. Nights!
April 14:
Word Count: 1,977
Total Word Count: 21,344
Thoughts for the Day:
3:03PM:
After a bit of set up I'm finally getting into new words. Here's hoping that I'll get this done. And yes, I know, my reports of this shit has been getting small.
I've been out of it and doing other things. So sorry.
But I'm hoping to get these a little longer.
9PM:
And I finished the chapter and even did some rewriting. I took a short nap for about 30 minutes around 6, and it was a welcomed distraction. I'm happily awake, for the moment, but will crash out very soon here.
I need sleep that doesn't include me waking up at the butt crack of dawn again. I hate when that happens.
But I suppose that I shall live, yes?
April 15:
Word Count: 0
Total Word Count: 21,344
Thoughts for the Day:
No actual words done. I swear that I got up and then suddenly it was late. I did start to get some words but not a lot all things considered. It's kind of a normal thing but still. That sucked.
April 16:
Word Count: 3,252
Total Word Count: 24,596
Thoughts for the Day:
12:40PM
Woke up and took a shower. That helped me to wake up so I'm going to start on getting some more words today. Cross the fingers.
Midnight:
I got 2, count 'em, 2!, chapters written up today! When I finished that second chapter, I squealed happily and twirled in my chair.
That hurt.
But I had some help. The lovely and sweet Crystal on Twitter (@CE_Writer) gave me some prompts (Owl, poison and haunted house) from her fantasy prompt dice. I took it and RAN with it. I pumped out so many words it was AMAZING.
I even got in a livestream with The Real Crazy M (@therealcrazym on twitter), which was a whole lot of fun. :D
Let's see how I do tomorrow, yes?
April 17:
Word Count: 1,940
Total Word Count: 26,536
Thoughts for the Day:
It is 9:54PM, and I'm about done with the only chapter that I was able to get this round alas. I woke up kind of late, about 1 instead of noon, which is odd for me nowadays since I tend to get up at a semi-decent hour.
Started writing about 3, and had to stop and rewrite everything that I had put down. It's so much smoother and once I finish this chapter, I'll rewrite the rest of it to fit in with the rewritten bit. Here's hoping yes?
11:18PM
As Five Finger Death Punch's song "Lift Me Up" plays on my Spotify, I'm sitting here going "F-my life", just without the censoring. Cause seriously...that was close!
*flops*

Camp National Writing Month April 2016 - Days 4 to 10
Today's Ear Worm: The 69 Eyes "Sister of Charity" or "Rosary Blue" Ft. Kat Von D
Today's Date: April 11, 2016
I was able to get a good word count today. I also hung out with some of my friends, got things done and got a new pillow that will do until I can get some new memory foam to turn into a pillow. My butt thanks me.
Not a lot to say beyond my characters are sassy little SOB's and that one character has an inner "school girl with a crush" thing going on.
I headdesk now.
I did get writing done on this day, but I didn't finish what I was working on at the time. I was rather busy with other things and couldn't quite get all of the words in. I did get in over 1K worth of words by the time I headed to bed (actually, I landed at 1,596 words), but since I like to count the finished product in my words...I didn't get any at all for 4/5/16.
Which isn't a bad thing! Really, it's not.
It happens sometime and I did get in some good amounts of words.
I have a feeling though that this thing is going to be the energizer bunny of standalones.
Fuck. I hate it when I'm right. As of 7:24PM I have 2,944 words on this standalone. Guys, this means that I have a ridiculous amount of wordage going on here for this one thing. And it's not really a part of a story. It's a story in of it's self that is a part of a world.
And of course the ever dreaded thought of "Should I start a sister blog of this blog on WordPress?" has popped up.
Timing with the thoughts, people, it sucks. So very much.
10:12PM
It is just after 10PM and I have reached the end of this monster story! I would put up a picture of a person just flopped over, but I can't find a good one so...yeah. Just imagine a bunny flopping over right now yes?
Okay! Now that I have that done, I have to say that this was a very long stand alone. Granted, I've written nearly 5K worth of words for a standalone, but that's usually mostly a plot that has promise, but it doesn't really evolve into a full on story. This was just pretty much sex.
And a lot of it.
The longest I've really gotten up to for a sexual escapade is around 3,500 words.
But: I have caught up on words. Yay for me!
Back to the words.
3:40
Today was a rather late start due to the fact that me and my mother discovered that the water that we had gotten just a couple of days ago was filled with sediment and didn't taste clean. We're thinking that the water machine that we use had a faulty filter, which happens when it's used as much as it is.
But as I sit here and listen to "Rosary Blue" on repeat, I can't help but turn my mind to "Thread the Needle" and the "Don't Look" series that it's a part of.
And to the thoughts of romance, sex, and love in the books themselves. I have a feeling that there will be relationships and the such but...I'm not finding myself that I want to actually plan out those relationships.
It's kind of a new experience for me.
April 9:
Word Count: 780
Total Word Count: 11,856
Thoughts for the Day:
I kind of ended up rewriting a couple of chapters on one of my other stories, so thus why the small amount of words. I was drained by going out to get portraits done for my mom. But I did pretty good all things considered.
April 10:
Word Count: 4,562
Total Word Count: 16,418
Thoughts for the Day:
10:14 AM:
I'm actually thinking of working on a series of movie reviews that would come out either on Friday or Saturday. I'll probably do a test run with the Insidious 3 movie series and go from there if I get some enjoyment going from this.
But words are needed for now.
8:50 PM
I got well over 3K by this time and yet...I go for more. Let's see if I can get over 15K here shall we?
9:43 PM
Nearly an hour later and I'm well over 3K in the final word count. In fact, I'm sitting pretty at 4,562 (four thousand, five hundred, and sixty two words).
This puts me at 16,418 words total so far for the last 10 days. I'm shocked at myself. Really! I was not expecting to have so many words so soon! I'm averaging about 1,642 words a day with this. I'm shaking my head.
And watching my brain dribble out of my ears. I'm tired. And I can feel the bunnies want to write more but I can't right now because the bed?
It's looking REALLY comfortable right about now.
So I'm going to log my word count, put my fan up into my window (as long as it doesn't decide to rain again on me), and get some well deserved sleep. I think I need it since I got up rather early to film the rain.
Which I have to fiddle around with tomorrow. I'll do that later. -.- Tired writer is tired.
Tune in next week to see if I hit my word count early or not!

I'm sitting here watching a video that Akidearest had posted on youtube, using the audio from an address to a graduating class by Neil Gaiman, and I had to find the original video that brought me to something of a realization.
The part where he goes "Make Good Art". He talked, in the full speech, about losing himself to the day to day things, about losing the drive to write because he was so busy answering e-mails. Or he was doing this, or that. And that when he learned to say No, the writing came back.
I think that everyone needs to remember that just because life throws a curve ball at you, you should continue to Make Good Art, come hell or high water, because it makes you happy.
I'm going to create something that will remind me of this and stick it on the wall before me.
For now I'm going to try to catch up on words since yesterday was all sorts of overcast and made me sluggy. Today it's just rain randomly.

Camp National Novel Writing Month: Days 1 to 3, 2016
Today's Earworm: Bad Religions "Sorrow, Acoustic Version" or "Dearly Beloved Acoustic"
Today's Date: 4/1/2016 (April 4, 2016)
Warning: April 2nd was not kind to me. I do speak about a stomach that is not happy in the worst possible way. If you don't care for it, just skip the lighter purple text down there.
12:02 AM
Fuck. My. Muses. If you will excuse the language, but really! Fuck my muses! It's a few minutes after midnight on April 1st, I'm kind of avoiding Facebook, I'm pretty much on my twitter profile page, and tumblr is non-existent since about 7 yesterday evening due to the differing time zones.
Yeah, I don't do April Fools okay? I had a friend really screw me over with a fake death thing once. And it made it hard to believe her when she told me about the true death of another friend.
But we're here to talk about how my oh so lovely muses have screwed me over this time.
I was thinking about working on Book 1 of my "Don't Look" Series, which is called "A Delicate Thread", when my muses decided to be utter pains in my ass.
They decided that I needed to write the entire frickin' back history of my story. So guess what I'm doing?
That's right. I'm writing "Threading the Needle" for my Camp! *headdesk* I'm hoping that it won't be to horribly long but it might turn out because there's a lot to go over. About 20 years worth of history actually.
Insert a big gusty sigh here yes?
And before you ask about the series, and why I'm naming them the way I am, the names are all connected to thread, yarn, twine, ect. What have you. It's just been that way through out the entire time that I started writing the series.
Book 0: Thread the Needle
Book 1: A Delicate Thread
Book 2: Spin Me a Yarn
Book 3: Twist the Twine (which is quite actually a part of the character's story)
So there.
Fuck. My. Muses.
4:51 PM
I have no idea what I'm doing here. I got some words earlier, got it all done. Now I'm working on this story. I have a feeling that it's going to be interesting to get things done.
Here's hoping that I finish more words before the end of today.
8:25 PM
Well then! Got the word count down and out. Got a video out on my youtube video. Got a chapter on my story written, and now I'm going to go take a well deserved hot bath!
Tomorrow I'm going to work on another story that I need to get through before things happen. Insert a huffy sigh again.
For now, hugs and kisses. Good night all.
So it is just after 9PM here in Arizona-land and I'm exhausted even though I just got up about two hours ago.
Today was just one long fucked up session. I was heading to bed for a nap before my friend came over to grab my ass for shopping when my body goes "You need the bathroom". I ended up communing with my trash and actually gagging a few times.
What was it?
It was a flare up of pain that was unfortunately added to by another issue that I now have medication to take care of, so no worries on that. My mom calls my friend and tells her that I can't make it today unfortunately.
An hour later, a very hot shower, unable to even sip at room temperature water without communing with the trash can just in case, and my mom calls for an ambulance. I get dressed, slowly since moving hurt like a bitch and sit on my mom's bed seeing as I was using her shower (seeing as she had a shower seat and a hose shower head going on). That was about as far as I got before my body rejected whatever I had eaten.
Which had been about an hour and a half before (lean pocket with a couple crush orange/grape twizzlers).
They come in, listen to me reject my stomach contents three times in a row, and decide to just full on take me to the hospital.
I get there, get a room and take 30 minutes to lay a damn IV line. About ten minutes later (and finally getting blood drawn for the usual battery of tests), I have three new needle marks, an IV line, a fat bag of fluids to push, and a shot with pain killers and anti-nausea flowing into my system. It was nice to move without setting off a wave of level 10+ pain.
Around 12:30, 1, I'm finally getting out because I was so dehydrated that I needed the fattest IV bag that they can give you. It took about 20 minutes to get through half the bag, where usually it would take you about 40 minutes if they aren't pushing the fluids.
They weren't pushing the fluids. I just needed it like no one's business.
Anyways, I got out, called my cab, got home around 2:30. I ate some chicken soup (my mother is an awesome woman), laid down, and crashed until about 6 when my mom gave me my first round of pills. Got up about 7 with a sleep hangover. Took some more pain killers and ate.
I'm now about to crawl back into bed and curl up. I need sleep like nobodies business. And hopefully my stomach stops hating me randomly. I hate being sore after such things.
Hopefully I can get good words tomorrow.
Ah, finally, I have gotten my writing done since I had some rather interesting thoughts about things in the last few hours that took me taking a hot bath to relax and think about.
But I got chapter 2 of Thread the Needle done.
So much rewrite to be done. *sighs*
Just after midnight on the 4th, and I didn't finish my chapter but I'll get it later. I need to get some sleep here to deal with tomorrow.

Today's Date: 4/1/2016 (April 4, 2016)
Warning: April 2nd was not kind to me. I do speak about a stomach that is not happy in the worst possible way. If you don't care for it, just skip the lighter purple text down there.

Fuck. My.

Preparing for Camp National Novel Writing Month - April 2016 pt 3
Today's Ear Worm: Masashi Hamauzu "Storm Before The Calm"
Today's Date: March 28, 2016
You know what? I thought I would do something different than what I wrote originally for this blog.
As I write this blog, it's only the 17th of March (St. Patrick's Day) and I just dragged my falling apart recliner out to the garbage.
So as I was trying to post some pictures to Twitter (which apparently hate me), I decided that I should do a blog post about the physical aspect of preparing for Camp National Novel Writing Month.
So here it is!
How I physically got ready for the free for all of Camp NaNo.
Told in pictures. And a Video.

Told in pictures. And a Video.
The view from my bed. Messy yes?
A better view.
I'm going to have to do some major cleaning before I start building the desk up!
I built the desk and killed myself doing so.
I'm ready. Bring it on!
There's a few people that I really want to thank for being such wonderful, inspiring people. And that I hope I don't annoy you to much.
Thank you, so much, for listening to me rant, rave, moan, and babble about my writing. You all inspire me so very much!
Note: All names are linked to their personal websites if I can find one for them, otherwise it's linked to their twitter or facebook. If I can find one or have one.
Necia Pheonix: NP, as I often call her, is a mother with a husband who is often working. She has some wonderful kids and one of them is actually getting into the writing world! She's a wonderful writer, an even more awesome mother, and an awesome snake mommy with some lovely babies.
She even has an Instagram to see her snaky babies on! Not going to link that though since she does have pics of kids on there to.
J.A. Marlow: Jammy!
I met Jam back in...2013 right around the time that NaNo was starting (November). They were a wonderful person then and they're a wonderful person now, so I'm honored that they are so delightful.
They just lost their mother though, Mother Hen, and the world wept when she finally lost the battle. 10 days after she went to sleep and never woke up. She was a fighter to the end and loved all things art and writing. I just wish I had gotten to see Mother Hen when she was healthier, more there and doing what she loved to do.
But I see MH in Jam and I'm always honored to know this wonderful person and to read their stuff.
...And to get attacked by bunnies from them.
Lazette Gifford (her picture blog and her Joyously Prolific Journal): I know Zette a bit, but she's always delightful to talk with and her writing abilities are awe aspiring. Her books are perfectly wonderful and I love seeing her cats. They are so beautiful, and always trying to help mommy with the words!
I am amazed and honored that I know her. And I hope that life keeps treating her well.
Ashe Elton Parker: What to say about this wonderful person? Ashe is always willing to chat and talk about writing and life as it goes along. They're a wonderful person and have been through a lot themselves. But they are happy and living life which is a beautiful thing.
They currently have only had stuff published in the Forward Motion Anthologies (2012, 2013, 2014, and I believe they put a fourth one in 2015's to, but I can't be sure) currently but they are working hard on creating a build up of stories.
Still, they're a wonderful author, a lovely person, and someone I respect.
Jennifer Amriss: Ah, what to say about the ever beautiful Arya? She is relatively new to the publishing world but less so to the writing world. She is beautiful and wonderful and so brilliant even though she worries about not being good enough.
I can tell you right now, I got my picky as all get out bibliophile of a friend ADDICTED to her stories. She's good. Trust me.
Take some time, go check out her site and bask in her amazing worlds. Buy her books as they come out and help support her and her kitty Punks. The kitty could use some catnip to drive her mommy even more insane.
Connie Cockrell: I have met Connie and I can tell you that she's a lovely, lovely person who needs more people reading her stuff. She started to write on a dare and got bit hard by the need for it!
But she's a wonderful woman who is a wonderful person, who comments occasionally on my posts here, so thank you, Connie. Really. Your words are always a welcomed sight to my eyes.
Kathleen Roberts: I actually met her on...Im' not sure where but I have her on facebook, and ever since I have been getting to know her quite well. She's got an amazing mind and goes outside of the box for her ideas. So I'm happy to have her in my life to.
:D It's always nice to have a friend who enjoys writing just as much as you do.
Now there are some people who I can't link to for various reasons, but I want to send out my thanks to Tonya, my heart sibling, Susan, a wonderful woman who is always willing to squeal about my stuff and is a dear friend, and her husband, Vaughan, who is like the brother that I always wanted.
So thank you three. For being my rock outside of my mother. Really.
And thank you to all those who are here now, who follow my twitter, tumblr, or facebook page. Who silently support me in their own ways or take time to send kind words.
It all means a lot.
Thank you.

Preparing for Camp National Novel Writing Month - April 2016 Pt. 2
Today's Ear Worm: Is surprisingly a horror game playthrough from one of my many favorite Youtubers, Markiplier. Poisonous Play Through Play List
Warnings for the game: some screaming, some jump, but mostly puzzle as it goes with all Amnesia games.
Todays date: 3/21/2016
So, as I said in my last blog (Preparing for Camp National Novel Writing Month - April 2016), I was kind of going "What the flying hell am I going to do for this round?"
Well, I was talking about rewriting two of my stories, which I have decided to do after all! I decided to rewrite my rather short stories "All You Need" and my "Untitled Lex/Rose Story". I have been working on creating outlines and basic summaries for each of the stories before April comes around and I decided that I would share them now.
Let me tell you right now: I write mostly M/M stories and novels. That means I write two men having relationships of various kinds. Rarely do I write F/M pairings in my novels but most of my worlds DO have pairings of some kind.
Cause I love me some lovin' okay?
Now that I've warned you guys about that, let me talk about my novels.
Untitled Lex/Rose Story
Genre: Not sure, but mostly modern M/M Romance
Summary: He had moved into his house when he had been 4 years of age with his parents, grew up in it, learned all that he knew about gardens in the house. He had also heard of his families ties to the older families of the city, but he didn't really care about all of that.
He was much more interested in the man who was moving next door, supposedly to fix up the old house and write a novel. Or ten.
Rose was a gardener by trade, a manager at a nursery as a job, and on the odd weekend off, he played around with creating a book about how to create gardens of various levels and styles.
Lex was a lover of books, writing and editing for his career. He moved into the house because of the fact that he could get his hands on all of the materials that were connected to the house, wanting to write those stories instead of his usual mystery fare.
What neither of them were expecting was to find a connection with each other. Much less love.
Between storms that knock out power, a cat that seems to want to take over Lex's office chair when he can escape from Rose, and nosy neighbors who want to see Rose out of 'their' neighborhood, it's an interesting time for them.
I'm sure you're staring at the fact that I put the summary in a different font and color. That's mostly so I can talk about this story without you thinking that it's a part of the summary of the story.
Lex and Rose was actually a story prompted by a friend who suggested it to me one day. So I wrote it. It's never been put anyways because I knew even then that I would need to rework the entire story. And then I lost ALL of my stories (fanfiction included) to my flashdrive reformatting on me randomly.
I was far from happy about that fact you guys. I screamed in rage and then found an SD card which I'm still using mostly with 1 terabyte plug and play hard drives. Which make me happy.
Anyways, another friend found a flash drive at her place, and lo and behold! I have copies of this story plus All You Need. I think I squealed loud enough for my friend to hear me up in Washington. Considering I live in the lower part of Arizona? That was pretty loud.
So here I am, with copies of my stories that I had thought I had lost and now I can rewrite them. Nearly two years after I wrote them!
So I'm just about ready to celebrate this fact, really.
I transferred the original 11 chapters of this story to my GDoc's that I hold my shorter originals on so I can work on them anywhere as long as I can access my gdoc's and settle into bed.
I take about 6 pages of notes about the story lines and story plot and what I would need to add. I leave it alone for 3 days and start to outline it. I'm now running around 26 planned chapters for this story along with going more in-depth with the build up between them.
It might end up longer though depending on what happens as I write and rewrite this story because I want it to be the best that I can.
All You Need
Genre: Once more, romance, but with a twist.
Summary: I'm really not sure what to say about this one since it's different than what I've ever written before in regards to my originals.
All You Need was, once more, prompted by a friend to write and I did. Then lost it. Again, pissing me off.
But then I found it, transferred all 5 chapters to my short story gdoc, and started to take notes. There is just so much that needs to be rewritten and filled in that it's giving me a headache.
The main characters are "Canaris" and Brian. I'm thinking I'm going to change "Canaris'" name to something a bit easier to read and say, so I need to figure out what I'm going to do with it.
The story is about how "Canaris" has an escort Business called "All You Need". Mind you, the escorts that work for him are under strict contraction obligation to not sleep with their clients for money or for fun while they're working. All You Need provides dates, not sex as "Canaris" often says.
Brian comes in needing a date and from there he discovers that Canaris is one of the few shifting humans, the genetics of the human race mutating and changing.
It's rather interesting and the world building is being a pain in the butt, but I have no doubt that I'm going to have fun with it.
As it is, I have about 3 new chapters outlined and haven't even gotten into the main part of the story with these two. I want to build up the world properly since I'm having this odd feeling that this might end up as a series. Different pairings, same world. Probably going to call the series "All You Need" and title each book with titles that fit the story.
Like Canaris' and Brian's book would be called "Finding My Truth" since Canaris, in the world that they live in, is mostly a fetishized human since he can literally become anyone that he wants.
It's going to be different than anything that I've written and probably won't be put out until I'm a bit further into my publishing career.
But that's what I'm doing for April's Camp round this time. Here's hoping that I get this done and out of the way this time!
I've decided that my end word count for this round of camp will be 35K and I will work on these two stories.
I'm going back to working on things in preparation for this.
Hugs and loves all!

Preparing for Camp National Novel Writing Month - April 2016
Today's Earworm: Is actually a show. The Lizzie Bordon Chronicles on Netflix
Today's Date: March 14, 2016
I find myself once more on the edge of another Camp round and can't for the life of me figure out what I actually want to work on this year.
Okay, I'm sure that those who are new to this blog, I join in on the wonderful world of National Novel Writing Month which happens from November 1st to November 30th. During this time, those who are participating try to write 50 Thousand words in just 30 days.
Now Camp National Novel Writing Month happens twice a year. April and July both. I tend to join in the both of them and I do pretty darn well. Then again, we can choose how many words we want to hit for during the month, and I tend to try for between 35K to 40K for each month.
Well, as of right now, I have 2 weeks and a few days until April 1st rolls around. I've already decided that I'm going to try for 35K and rewrite a couple of my stories into fuller, richer shorter novels. Probably novelettes or novellas.
Okay, okay, okay, I can feel the confused looks coming from the lot of you. I really can. Let me breakdown the type of lengths for each type of book.
First, there are short-short stories. They tend to be under 2,500 words total.
Short stories come after that and range from 2,500 to 7,500 words in length.
After short stories come Novellettes, which is a possibly where my two stories will land in. They range from 7,500 words up to about 20 thousand words.
Novellas are the next step. They range from 20 thousand words to 50 thousand words, which is about where most of the writers during NaNoWriMo are aiming for minimum.
Full on novels range from 70K to 90K words.
Now, the genre of the book does effect the total word count. As a general rule, young adult is mostly between 50K to 80K, while adult literary works fall somewhere between 80K and 110K, depending on the genre. Science Fiction (Sci Fi) and Fantasy though tend to be some of the few that get up there in length, along with historical, and a few others.
Disclaimer though: This is not a firm set rule! This is average on what sells and what people are looking for. When it comes time to publish or look for a publisher, you should do your research into what is the best word count.
For me, as a paranormal horror writer mostly (with forays into romance and fantasy), I'll find my sweet spot between 80 thousand up to 95/100 thousand words total. And those numbers are based off of the Paranormal Genre (75K to 95K) and Horror Genre (80K to 100K) and mixing between the two.
Now that I got that out of the way, as I said, I'm aiming for about 35K this coming April and the stories to end up around 20 to 30K. I write about 1,100 words per chapter, minimum, and I'm going to try for 20 chapters each. Minimum.
But then, I have this one story that is just sitting here.
Mocking me.
Begging me to write it.
I'm talking about NaNo's 2015 story, my mean bunny story, "When My Eyes Close". I have no idea where I'm going with it really. I have my plot points but I'm having to figure out a few new ideas for the characters since it won't happen in one night but instead spread out over a few months time. And one character that I was going to kill off is now going to live.
And have his own book if I can figure out what to do with him.
I sigh now.
Well, I have a bit of time, don't I?
Coming up next week, Preparing for CampNaNo April 2016! Here I go! Once more into the insanity.
